Danville, Calif. —
Ron Beaty, best known in the home furnishings industry from his many years as the domestic buyer for Mervyn’s in California, passed away on May 8 after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
Prior to Mervyn’s, Beaty worked at JCPenney for a number of years.
Dick Gould, vice president of sales for Foreston Trends, said, “Ron Beaty was a friend as well as a customer. He had a very dry sense of humor. Oftentimes he quoted one liners as jokes that had roots to his Midwest origins. Living in California, most people didn’t get that sense of humor. I observed he was a gentleman and treated his associates with respect. Ron will be missed by those that got to know him as I did.”
Beaty is survived by his wife, Coco.
