Revman: Retailers Trading Up

At the New York Market — Revman International is putting more buck into the bag.

The company is showing four luxury beds this market in its Manor Hill bed ensembles collection. The sets are shown with either a 230 sateen or percale, with a top-of-bed focus on texture and detailing.

"We're seeing some interest in getting better price points out there, as opposed to chopping and devaluing," said Diane Piemonte, vp of creative services. "Some are even saying let's go back to eight pieces."

This market also marks the debut of the Columbia Sportswear home brand. Revman is showing two collections. One consists of fashion bedding for the master bedroom, which Piemonte describes as "an upscale lodge approach" to design. Faux suede is a big part of the construction story, and accents range from embroidery to menswear plaids.

Columbia's home line also includes more casually styled beds suited for the back-to-school season. In addition, Revman is showing solid color sheets, a range of printed flannel sheets, quilted coverlets, fleece throws, down and down alternative comforters, and sleep pillows.

In Columbia bath, Revman offers two versions of solid color towels: one with a traditional dobby, the other with taped ends and a locker loop for hanging. In addition, four shower curtains coordinate back to the Columbia beds.

Under its Echo licensed line, the focus is on color, with an eye-popping black and white line-drawing floral print splashed with jots of red on the floor as the showstopper.

For the Nicole Miller brand, which in the U.S. market is exclusive to Bed Bath & Beyond, "We've had a lot of success with color-driven and texture-driven designs," said Piemonte. "It seems to be the right look for that customer."
