Greensboro, N.C. – Fiber and yarn producer Unifi, Inc.’s 100% recycled yarn Repreve will be featured on “How It’s Made,” a TV series produced by the parent company of the Discovery Channel.

The unique production processes used to manufacture Repreve were filmed recently at Unifi’s Yadkinville, N.C. manufacturing plant, which the company said makes it the first U.S. textile mill to be featured on the show. The episode is slated to air sometime during the first half of 2009 on the Discovery Channel.

“In the corporate world, some organizations have taken the lead in promoting awareness of global sustainability by educating consumers about their product’s origins and manufacturing these products in a way that ultimately benefits the environment,” said Robert Morselli, director of research for the show. “I have identified Unifi and Repreve as examples of these corporate leaders; this is why we have selected them to participate.” in the taping of a ‘How It’s Made’ episode.” added Morselli.

Unifi evp Roger Berrier called the show “an excellent opportunity to further educate consumers on our recycled polyester.”
