Acton Vale, Quebec, Canada —
Area rug and carpet company Beaulieu Canada has appointed Marcel Poirier to the position of vp, commercial business division, which includes the hospitality sector.
Poirier started his long career in the carpeting industry in 1974, when he joined DuPont as a polymer engineer. Later he joined the commercial carpet sales organization of DuPont/Invista, where he was assigned to the Canadian market.
Beaulieu Canada noted that Poirier has been recognized by the commercial carpet community “for his expertise in understanding carpet performance on all applications.” Along the way, Quebec named him Honorary Governor of the Interior Design Society of the Province of Quebec.
“Marcel is well known and respected throughout the commercial community in Canada and has had a long term relationship as an account manager with Beaulieu Canada,” said Karel Vercruyssen, ceo.
In his new post, Poirier is responsible for managing all aspects of the commercial and hospitality business of Beaulieu Canada. He will be based in the company’s Mississauga sales and marketing office.
