New York – The AfghanMark logo developed for carpets made by the Afghan Women’s Business Federation (AWBF) has received four marketing and design awards.
The internationally registered certification trademark is attached to carpets made under several conditions including:
-
The women who made it were paid 150% of typical rate, in cash;
-
Workplace inspections;
-
Access to healthcare and education;
-
Heirloom quality carpets.
“We hope that American consumers will look for our AfghanMark brand when buying carpets in the U.S. ,” said Latifa Abasy, director of AWBF. “These awards recognize a program whose sole purpose is to aid and empower the hard working women of Afghanistan .”
The AfghanMark has won the 2007 Bronze Galaxy Award for Promotion: Brand Identity; two Communicator Awards of Distinction for Logo and for Design; and the Platinum Award for Logo in the 2007 Hermes Creative Awards.
We would love your feedback!
