Q.F. to Make Fabrics for Better Homes

New Line to Debut at Showtime in July

By Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 3/7/2005 12:00:00 AM

Q.F. Industries — a printer and converter of decorative fabrics — has signed a license to produce decorative fabrics under the Better Homes & Gardens brand.

The fabrics, which will be introduced at Showtime in High Point, N.C., in July, will be marketed to retail channels, home textiles suppliers, furniture manufacturers, and decorative jobbers, according to Jill Liebson, Q.F. president.

The initial launch will be two groups, each in four patterns and three colors — 48 skus total. The fabric constructions will be duck, sateen, slubs and jacquards using cotton, acrylic and rayon. Fabrics for indoor and outdoor use will be featured. Prices will be from $4 to $7 cost.

Liebson describes the design direction “as having a contemporary bent and being trendy for home and family with the value of the name recognition of Better Homes & Gardens. We don't have to explain who they are and what they stand for. Our customer base would see the collections as a perceived value.”
