Rick Leto is Mervyn’s new pres/CMO

HAYWARD, Calif. -- Industry veteran Rick Leto has joined Mervyn’s as its new president and chief merchandising officer, effective Jan. 5, 2005.
He will oversee marketing, merchandising, product development, strategic planning and allocation.
Most recently, Leto held the same position at Galyan’s Trading Company. Prior to that, he held positions as executive vice president of merchandising at Kohl’s and executive vice president of merchandising for Macy’s East.
“This is an exciting time at Mervyn’s and the beginning of a new chapter in its 55-year history,” said Leto. “With a continued focus on new and innovative products at great values, I look forward to ensuring Mervyn’s long and successful future.”
