Couristan adds two new regional reps; reorganizes territories

By Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 11/25/2002 3:28:00 PM

Fort Lee, NJ — Area rug manufacturer Couristan Inc. recently hired two new territory managers and recreated a new territory sales market, creating a total of 35 territories in North America.

George Marinovich, formerly assistant area rug buyer for The Bon Marché, has been assigned to manage accounts in Washington, Oregon, Alaska in the United States and British Columbia and Alberta in Canada. He replaces Alan Crowder, who left the company a month ago.

Tom McKay, who for the past 17 years owned and operated McKay Carpets Inc. in Dallas, has been assigned to cover Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri and southern Illinois.

McKay's post was newly created by Couristan, which recently reorganized its territories in an effort to "increase the number of accounts we have there as well as to better service those customers," Larry Mahurter, director of advertising and sales, told HTT.

Both Marinovich and McKay report to Bob Ball, vp, national sales manager.
