Fort Lee, N.J. – Lawrence Sindoni, a veteran of the floor covering industry and a member of the Couristan team for 25 years, passed away at his home on April 14. He was 73.
“Larry was with Couristan during a period of significant growth and change and he will always be remembered for his tremendous contributions during that important time,” said Ron Couri, president and ceo, Couristan. “He was sincerely appreciated for his dedication to our company, his passionate leadership qualities and his truly generous spirit. I speak on behalf of the entire Couristan team in saying that he will be deeply missed.”
Sindoni began his career with Jordan Marsh, responsible for building the department store’s area rug assortment as the senior buyer for that category. After 19 years with the now-defunct Massachusetts-based department store, he joined Couristan in 1980.
For more than two decades, he managed Couristan’s area rug and residential broadloom distribution throughout the northern New England region. He was working as a territory manager when he retired in May 2005.
Sindoni is survived by his wife, Paula, their two children, and nine grandchildren.
Respects may be paid at the McDonald Funeral Home located on Sea Street in North Weymouth, Mass., until 8 p.m. today. The funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on April 17 at St. Jerome Church, also in North Weymouth.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sindoni’s memory to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, One Bullfinch - Suite 2, Boston, Mass., 02114.
