Mohawk coo Wellborn appointed also to president

Calhoun, Ga. – Flooring manufacturer and supplier Mohawk Industries Inc. has appointed W. Christopher Wellborn, the company’s coo, to also become its president.
 
Wellborn has been Mohawk’s coo since November 2005 and has served on the board of directors since 2002. From March 2002 to November 2005, he was president of the company’s Dal-Tile ceramic and stone products business.
 
"Chris has been an excellent partner in his role as chief operating officer as we transitioned from a carpet manufacturer to a total flooring business including carpet, rugs, ceramic, laminate, stone, wood and vinyl products,” said Jeffrey Lorberbaum, chairman and ceo. “He has contributed to improving the company's strategic initiatives, organization structure, personnel development, and execution in this role."
