New York —
Croscill Home emphasizes embroidery embellishments and engineered prints as new statements in its bedding collection for this market, while retaining its classic looks in prints and wovens as well.
Within the grouping of classic Croscill bedding looks, striped damasks, elaborate jacquards with embossing, pieced detailing and embroideries on silk-look fabrics are significant statements. Coordinating sheets also sport embroidery details.
Among the highlights are Villeroy, a classic striped damask in a soft beige/yellow/taupe coloring. An important part of the bed is the new style companion window treatment, a key element in most Croscill offerings.
Among the other new Croscill classic looks are Grace, that sports black and white embroidery; Antoinette, an elaborate embroidery on a polyester jacquard with a satin weave; and Camellia, an elaborate jacquard design with a strie floral embossing.
The company also is adding to its regional bedding mix with designs targeted to coastal areas, casual, and southwest. Shells are a major theme with Seabright sporting a printed shell motif on the comforter and shells embroidered on the sheets. Blue Palm Fronds uses two different embroidery techniques creating a three dimensional effect. Shoreline, part of the coastal looks, sports embroidery to create its motifs, while Chimayo evokes the southwestern mood with a mix of embroidery and faux suede on a cotton/linen blend.
In the step-up White Label collection, Featherton creates a look of luxury with seed pearls and embroidery on a polyester/silk blend in butter and platinum, while Grand Paisley is an open paisley on a double cloth in taupe and platinum and Dream creates a highly decorative look with sewing details and decorative pleating.
In addition to the new Savvy Home Collection, the window segment offers a vast array of new fabrics: curtains including embroidered sheers, novelty sheers, crushed sheers, heat transfer printed sheers as well as lace, taffeta, heat transfer to complement heavier weight damasks, imberline stripes, burnouts, an interlined style and a matelasse.
Throughout the window collection, decorative jewelry in a variety of new styles has been added to the company's extensive line.
Top treatments are highlighted by Sandalwood, a brushed cotton using Stay Put, a Croscill innovation that keeps the treatment in place rather than moving along the rod.
In bath, there are some 40 to 50 new styles in contemporary, clean looks using all types of resin and ceramic materials to create white pearl, evanescence effects, jewel tones and bronze among others.
There are a few etched metals for the traditional side of the bath collection.
Price points for the bedding range from $199 to $249 for the queen comforter sets. Promotional sets are eight pieces that include either two shams and Euro shams, or four-piece sheets sets at $199 for the queen.
The current market will be the last for Croscill Home at 261 Fifth Ave., its decades-long home, as it will be moving at the end of this month to the entire sixth floor at 295 Fifth Avenue, joining its siblings Glenoit and Ex-Cell Home Fashions in that building.
We would love your feedback!
