West Conshohocken, Pa. —
The John Ritzenthaler Co., the country's third-largest kitchen textiles company, has made its third company acquisition in seven years, this time via its purchase of kitchen textiles and cleaning product designer and distributor TesArden LLC.
John Ritzenthaler Co., which is also a designer, marketer and supplier of table linens, bath textiles, laundry goods and cleaning products, took over TesArden in an effort to further expand its product offerings in similar categories and expand its market share, the company said.
TesArden is based in Southfield, Mich.
Ritzenthaler reported $64 million in kitchen textiles sales in 2007. Other acquisitions by the company included Standard Terry Mills in 2001 and Charles Craft in 2005.
I have been looking for more turnabout sponges for at least one year. The last ones I found were at Walmart. I agree the quality had gone down, but I still like the sponge and would like to know if they are available anywhere.

I thought I was going crazy when I noticed that the quality of this sponge had deteriorated. It didn't quite disintegrate as some of you have said, but it was definitely not the same. I used to buy mine at Top Foods but they've stopped carrying them and now I have to search for another "perfect" non-smelly sponge as I'm down to my last one. That's the sad thing about finding a good product - price goes up while the quality goes down then it totally disappears. Ah, despair!

I also use the turnabout sponges and i agree with the rest of them they are not of the same quality and i have complained to the company and they have not changed them back to the ones they used to make. So i am not going to buy them anymore and i think the rest of you should do the same. It is a shame when a product you like goes up in price and it is not good for anything anymore, not of good quality, and i won' t buy them anymore. So let's get together and not buy anymore till they give use the quality we are used too.

I just went to Wal-Mart after I wrote a message and they now have the sponges, only 2 packages left like it always was. We'll see if the quality has changed. The price did go up a little. If that is the case with Wal-mart wanting lower quality then I wish they would try and sell them maybe at Target. Wal-mart has done a big changes lately and they are not carring some of the things that I used to get. I don't go there as often anymore because of it.

I found this forum because I've also been looking for Turn-a-bouts for months. For a while I thought it was my imagination, but the Turn-a-bout pads are so feeble now, they only last a week. It isn't just that WalMart is selling the lower quality -- they are actually causing the quality to drop. We saw a tv show about WalMart that said when they decide to carry an item, they drive such a hard bargain with the manufacturer that the mfr has to lower the quality of the item in order to keep making it. I was surprised, but now I believe it! What a sad comment on American enterprise.
