Louis de Poortere fills two new executive positions

Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 8/6/2001 12:00:00 AM

As part of its recent effort to grow operations and expand offerings, overseas manufacturer and domestic distributor of wool woven area rugs and runner Louis de Poortere, based here, has recruited two industry veterans to fill two newly created executive positions.

Sherrie Anderson, who spent the past 14 years working for Shaw Industries and Mohawk Industries/Karastan, has been named vp. And Jason Hawkins, formerly showroom specialist and product knowledge coordinator for Home Depot's Expo Design Center, was appointed sales and store support coordinator.

Both will report to Terry Flamant, president, and be based at a newly renovated company facility in Adairsville, GA.

Anderson most recently held the position of regional manager for Shaw's Expressive Designs division. Hawkins's experience prior to Expo Design Center comes from working for Shaw, Mohawk and Beaulieu of America.

Louis de Poortere is undergoing expansion of warehouse space by 18,000 square feet, bringing total capacity to 25,000 square feet, including the Adairsville unit.
