New York —
Kassatex is broadening its sourcing portfolio and looking ahead to expanding its product range.
The manufacturer of bath towels and bath rugs recently opened a 15-person office in Hong Kong to step up its sourcing from China. The bulk of the company's towels are still produced through a joint venture in Turkey, and Kassatex owns an embroidery plant in Colombia that also services accounts in Europe and South America.
“We're working very closely with a big mill in China,” said Ernesto Khoudari, president.
Kassatex also has hired designer Cecilia Castillo to head its product development office in a move that will help the company branch into new product areas such as bath accessories. The company is already moving beyond coordinate terry bath rugs into free-standing, non-terry constructions sourced out of India.
To that end, the company is hoping to expand its New York headquarters at 295 Fifth Ave. to 4,000 square feet to display a broader range of products.
We would love your feedback!
