Sheen Rules Maison&Objet

By Carole Sloan -- Home Textiles Today, 10/2/2007 1:29:00 PM

Paris — Lots of shimmer and sheen, reflected particularly in the use of velvets as bedding and upholstery covers, an abundance of crystals as embellishments, and an emerging renewal of prints for the home highlighted the textile offerings at Maison&Objet here last month.

to create dramatic window accessories including holdbacks at

a rug made from cowhide at Limited Edition of Belgium.

with its fully accessorized bed at Groupe Fremaux of France.

Shades of beige are featured by Mastro Raphael of Italy with
lots of fashion forward shimmer as satin and stripes form a pattern.

Faux fur and slinky, shimmery fabrics are paired in a series of
luxurious throws at La Maison de la Fausse of France.

Hand woven fabrics, throws and pillows with extraordinary
tactile effects were featured by Arcade Avec of Italy using
cotton rope and merino wool.

Diacasan of France fashions a bold floral rug in wool and silk
and wool chenille to create added depth.

Descamps, part of the Gruppo Zucchi of Italy, used subtle sheen
on the duvet and satin for the throw in soft beige tones.

Giant flowers create a dramatic rug at Grancasa of Spain.

Black and white polka dots in various sizes sparked with
accents of red highlighted a collection of bath products
at Moeve of Germany.

Bold, bright and frivolous is the signature of designer
Agatha Ruiz de la Prada with her new pop flower bed
at Hierba-Monesal of Spain.

Pierre Frey highlights the fresh pinks in a new floral printed bed
mixed with stripes at Yves Delorme.

Carrara France created its usual dramatic presentation with a
mannequin in aqua and pink, highlighting its towel introductions.

Splashes of bright color highlight Kinetek, one of the new bath
collections, at Blank Home of Germany.

Coelima of Portugal features shades of purple as a fashion
statement for sheets, blankets, rugs and pillows.
