By Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 12/6/2007 1:13:00 PM

White Plains, N.Y. – New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg issued a proclamation recognizing the two 2008 “Home Textiles Market Weeks” of Jan. 31-Feb. 7 and Aug. 14-21, which are the time frames when, in conjunction with the New York International Gift Fair operated by George Little Management (GLM), mid and upmarket home textiles exhibitors spotlight their wares at the Javits Center and Pier 94, and at showrooms in the 7West 34th St. and 230 Fifth Ave. buildings.

The mayor also lauded the “New York Market: Built for Business” tagline and logo developed jointly by GLM and the two showroom buildings.

"We're delighted to have City Hall's acknowledgment,” said Penny Sikalis, GLM vp. She added that “nearly 500 mid-to-high end home textiles vendors” are involved.
