Jessica McClintock Develops New Lines

By Carole Sloan -- Home Textiles Today, 1/15/2007 12:00:00 AM

Jessica McClintock, the fashion designer who has expanded into the home furnishings world, will expand her presence in this marketplace with a launch of two home textiles collections this year.

The one for adult consumers will be a three-tiered program of 12 collections in bed, window, and bath that will debut in August from licensee Pacific Coast Home Furnishings (PCHF).

Jessica Baby, a collection of 14 complete bedding ensembles, will debut from PCHF at the New York Home Fashions Market in February. Said McClintock, "My new infant collection has been designed to provide the retailer and the consumer with a fresh design option utilizing unique fabrications and my attention to detail."

In the adult bedding collection, Jessica McClintock — The Romance Collection, will be targeted to luxury specialty stores, and produced mainly in the PCHF's City of Commerce, Calif., facilities.

Jessica by Jessica McClintock will be exclusive to department stores and big-box specialty retailers and will be a combination of imported and domestically produced product. Gunne Sax by Jessica McClintock will have a more youthful appeal, targeting value-oriented retailers.

McClintock's actual home here is typically the inspiration for her home collections. The adult collection will include complete comforter and duvet sets, sheets, window treatments, and full bath coordinates including accessories.

PCHF owners Perry Banafshe and Sam Samani commented, "With her love of romantic lifestyles, the collection will be a blend of timeless designs and embellishments which are the signature of all of her fashions. The elegance of the collection will be reflected in the fabrics such as silks, velvets, printed jacquards, embroideries, soft suede, damasks, and chenille."

According to Kerry Glasser, McClintock's licensing agent and head of New York-based Concept Marketing Group, "The professionals at PCHF have faithfully executed Jessica's vision and have made the development of this collection a pleasure. It's truly a collaborative effort."

McClintock's other home furnishings licensees are Lea Inds. for youth furniture, American Drew for case goods, C.R. Laine for upholstered furniture, Loloi for rugs, and Minka Group for lighting and decorative accessories.
