Duckwall Names New President

Abiline, Kan. —

Duckwall-Alco has named Richard Wilson president and ceo. Lawrence Zigerelli, who previously held the titles, has resigned.

Wilson has been principal of Corporate Alliance Group, a management consulting company specializing in marketing, product development, planning, strategy and brand management for the retail and wholesale trade, since 2007.

Previously, Wilson was senior vp, general merchandise, for BJ's Wholesale Club. He earlier held executive positions with May Department Stores, the Filene's division of May, and Macy's.

“Rich is a true merchant,” said Royce Winsten, chairman. “As a consultant to the board, Rich has recently completed an analysis of the company's merchandising and marketing strategy. As a result, he will hit the ground running and be able to focus the Company's efforts on improving future performance.”
