Cambria Heights, N.Y. -- Southern Hemisphere Design Group will debut its African-inspired home textiles collection at the New York Home Textiles Show, in Booth No. 1204/05 at the Metropolitan Pavilion.
The line of sheets, comforters, duvets, decorative pillows, window treatments, quilts, towels, bath accessories, robes, table linens, kitchen textiles, tabletop, and dinnerware will be featured under the SoHe Designs brand. Caribbean and South American design influences inform the product range.
“We are offering more than the trend of the day to this customer base,” said Barbara Garnes, the lifestyle creator and president of Southern Hemisphere Design Group. “The company has created a complete coordinated line of home décor and accessories with, at first, the African heritage consumer in mind. Then we acknowledged the non-ethnic market purchasing cultural products in surprising numbers.”
SoHe Designs has rescheduled distribution for spring 2007 to moderate and better department stores, linen and gift catalogues, home textiles specialty stores, gift shops, and boutiques. Private label programs will be offered to department stores, specialty stores, and commercial business, the company said.
