Stern's exec to Avanti

MOONACHIE, NJ — Yet another industry veteran is making the switch from the retail side to the manufacturing sector.

Christina Plattman, formerly the towel buyer for the now defunct Stern's Department Stores, has been hired as the new sales and marketing director for Avanti, based here.

She reports directly to Michael Tauber, president.

"She's been on the retail side for 11 years, and to me that kind of experience is invaluable to bring to our side of the business to help us manage our key accounts," Tauber said.

"She's very well thought of in the marketplace and we feel very fortunate that she's working for us now," he said.

Plattman will work from Avanti's headquarters.

"Any towel company that can get my embellished towels turning faster than my solid color programs is the type of company I want to work with," Plattman said.
