Kmart appoints former Banc of America exec as senior vp/general counsel

Troy, MI — Kmart has hired Harold Lueken as senior vp and general counsel, effective May 12. In addition to overseeing the legal department, Lueken will also take charge of Kmart's human resources departments as Michael Macik, executive vp of human resources, retires.
Lueken was previously employed by Banc of America Securities as managing director and general counsel to investment banking. Prior to that, he served as principal and general counsel for real estate businesses at Morgan Stanley Dean Witter & Co. He will report to Kmart president and ceo Julian Day.
Macik will retire from Kmart after 32 years. He initially retired in November 2000 and rejoined Kmart in April 2002 to assist in the company's reorganization.
