Biltmore Estate, Capel and MWW Celebrate 'Festival of Flowers'

-- Home Textiles Today, 3/1/2010 12:00:00 AM

Gearing up for the High Point Market in April, The Biltmore Estate's licensing division is ready to celebrate the 25th anniversary of its 'Festival of Flowers' with new rugs and throws by licensees Capel Inc. and Manual Woodworkers and Weavers, respectively.

Capel's Festival of Flowers rugs for Bilmore comprise a collection woven on custom upholstery looms in Europe. Inspired by wall coverings and fabrics from the Biltmore House here, the rugs' tight and rugged construction is appropriate for its crisp design clarity and broad palette. The stitched flannel backing offers stability and comfort, and the rugs are also tested for wear, even for use in high-traffic areas.

The Festival of Flowers tapestry throw collection by Manual Woodworkers and Weavers for Biltmore is a limited-edition piece. Its design is meant to reflect “the beauty and grandeur of the gardens surrounding the estate,” the company noted. This throw is made in the USA and measures 50-by-60. It is set to retail for $47.
