Top Suppliers Put a Tough Year Behind Them

The Great Recession and the Linens ’n Things liquidation dealt a double whammy to the home textiles industry in 2009, driving sales down for many top suppliers.
Among HTT’s Top 15 Suppliers overall, two-thirds posted sales declines for the year. Among the gainers, only Carpenter Company managed a double-digit increase.
Among the Top 5 Suppliers by category, 34 saw sales slide in a particular category — but 29 logged sales increases and 19 were flat for the year, demonstrating that even in a bad year there are opportunities to be had.
