Janelle Lampp, Surya Create Branded Line

Surya, a supplier of hand-knotted and hand-tufted rugs, has partnered with designer Janelle Lampp to create a licensed collection of rugs.

Under the JanelleStyle brand, the collection comprises eight designs — Sunset, Skin (available in two colorways), Modern Skin, Stormy Weather, Golden Bubbles, Grapefruit Flower, Tiger and Bamboo (also available in two colorways). All are transitional interpretations of natural elements in saturated colors. The rugs are hand-tufted and made in the company's integrated manufacturing facilities in India. A 5-by-8 is set to retail for $449.

The launch is slated for January at the Atlanta International Area Rug Show.

Lampp said Surya's design needs “fit my style, while taking my brand in new directions.”

Added Chandra Ti-wari, president of Surya, “(Lampp's) use of color and the simplicity of her designs are compelling.”

Lampp licenses her JanelleStyle brand and designs to other rug suppliers in the industry, including Colonial Mills, Inc. (CMI), Homefires and Jaipur Rugs.
