Springs to create collection for Mattel brands

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — Springs Industries has entered into a multi-license agreement with Mattel to create home collections for the toy company's premier brands, including Barbie and Hot Wheels.

The manufacturer will preview the collections starting in the third quarter, with anticipated ship dates in January 2005.

For the Barbie brand, Springs will offer a collection of juvenile bedding and bath as well as develop craft and fabrics to appeal to the juvenile girl demographic. For Polly Pocket, Springs will introduce juvenile bedding, fabrics and crafts.

For boys, Springs will create programs for the Hot Wheels and Matchbox lines.

The Matchbox collection will also skew to toddlers, stated the companies, and will include bedding, fabrics and crafts.
