NEW YORK —
Ashford Court believes it has just the ticket for the Back-to-School season: the Black Light Special.
At the New York market, the decorative pillow, throw, table linens and top-of-bed manufacturer and importer introduced its new line of glow-in-the-dark pillows that illuminate in a black light setting — "perfect for Back-to-School and college dorms," Neil Zuber, president, told Home Textiles Today. "They're a lot of fun."
For the launch, the company started out with three psychedelic styles — Elvis, Fantasia and Confusion — "but the possibilities are endless," said Amy Bell, executive vp and design director
Price points average $9.99 to $12.99 for 18-inch pillows. The line is also available in cubes, spheres, floor cushions and bean bags.
Soon to come: Coordinating 50" x 60" throws set to retail for about $49.99 and possibly top-of-bed offerings, too, based on the response from customers so far.
"We previewed the line and we already have placement with one mid-tier retailer," Bell said. "They even want some bedding products to coordinate, so that may happen, too."
We would love your feedback!
