Delia appoints Goldspiel sr. vp, gmm

New York — Teenage girl retailer Delia's has announced the appointment of Ira Goldspiel to the position of senior vp and gmm of Delia's Retail, reporting to Andrea Weiss, president.

With 18 years of retail experience, Goldspiel was most recently senior vp, merchandising and marketing for Liz Claiborne, where he was responsible for merchandising, planning, marketing and retail stores for Laundry by Shelli Segal. Prior to that, he was with A/X Armani Exchange, where he held such positions as executive vp and general manager and was largely responsible for product development and merchandising.

"We are extremely pleased to have Ira join the Delia's team," said Weiss. "His talents on both the merchandising and management fronts will be instrumental as we continue to focus on Delia's retail expansion. This remains an important growth driver for the company, and we are confident Ira's contributions will play a significant role in our success."

Goldspiel replaces Patricia Waechter, who has left the company.
