Calhoun, Ga. —
Surya Inc. has debuted several new product developments at the Atlanta International Area Rug market earlier this month at the AmericasMart.
For its licensed program with HGTV interior designer celebrity Candice Olson, the company added new marketing tools for displaying and promoting the collection in stores. Retailers will receive a larger-than-life Candice Olson banner with the purchase of a custom rug display rack, which holds up to 40 5-by-8 rugs — each of which comes with a point-of-purchase hangtag.
The Candice Olson collection was also recently enhanced with a new higher-end rug styles.
"We are certain that these banners will resonate with customers and increase sales for our retailers," said Satya Tiwari, president.
To better cross coordinate its multiple category offerings, Surya this market also for the first time offered customers five-piece ensemble packaged sets of matching products spanning rugs, decorative pillows, throws and wall art. Three pre-priced packages are available — $399, $699 and $999. Surya noted that it has "hundreds of pre-set arrangements to choose from" that vary in styles from contemporary to traditional.
"We see this as an exciting evolution of our successful coordinating accessory program" Tiwari said. "It remains our priority to provide our retailers with the tools and selection they require for making the most comprehensive sale possible."
Also new for market was the expanded assortment of Surya's "Kids Rugs Collection," which now offers new patterns made in gender-specific palettes and themes. The kids' line is also now available in round sizes.
Tiwari noted that the rugs are stain-resistant and made in durable constructions.
