Shandong Longdi establishes U.S. office

NEW YORK -- Shandong Longdi Textiles Co., Ltd. of Rizhao City, China, has established an American subsidiary, Longdi Textiles USA, and has hired industry veteran Dick Silvia as general manager, U.S. sales and marketing.

Shandong Longdi Textiles is a private label manufacturer and direct importer of bath and area rugs, shower curtains, towels and quilted bedspreads working with both manufacturers and retailers. The company expects to be in a permanent showroom in time for the 2006 spring New York Home Textiles Market..

Prior to his new position, Silvia was head of his own sales and consulting firm, RWS Marketing & Sales. He is also an adjunct instructor in the Textile Development and Marketing Department at FIT.
