Commerce Department to Bring Foreign Buyers to U.S. Textile Event

The U.S. Commerce Dept. has selected Textile and Sewn Products Industry Week 2010 for its U.S. Commercial Service International Buyer Program (IBP).

The program brings thousands of international buyers to major trade shows for key U.S.-based industries.

The Textile and Sewn Products event, set for May 18–20, 2010 at the Georgia World Congress Center here, will comprise three independent exhibitions: ATME-I/MEGATEX 2010, SPESA Expo 2010, and Techtextil North America 2010. Exhibitors at these shows produce textile machinery, equipment and supplies, materials and fibers, processing systems and recycling techniques and programs.

The IBP is expected to increase advance exposure of the shows to international companies, and to attract more international decision-makers. IBP will provide buyer delegations with assistance on the visa application process as well as hotel and travel packages, the agency said. IBP also provides an Export Interest Directory to the show producers as an aid to exhibitors. Other services include export counseling, marketing analysis, and matchmaking services.
