Middleton, Mass. — —
Middleton, Mass. — Regal Fabrics said it has settled a copyright infringement suit against a supplier, an off-shore fabric mill and a U.S. retailer for a “substantial” cash amount in the U.S. District Court in Boston.
The fabric in question — Regal's R8133 tapestry — was copied in India by Koba and manufactured by Harbortown into futons that were sold in ShopKo Stores, Regal claimed.
“It took over two years to resolve this matter through the courts, but it was a great result as we successfully defended our rights, making the copiers pay for their actions,” said Steven Kahan, president of Regal Fabrics.
