Lenzing raising prices

LENZING, Austria -- The Lenzing Group, a producer of man-made cellulose fibers, plans to increase the prices of its fibers beginning in the fourth quarter.
Increases of at least 5 percent -- depending on the fiber type -- are expected, according to the company. The increases will take effect Oct. 1 and will apply to fibers used for both textiles and nonwoven applications.
“The Lenzing Group is taking this action in order to compensate for the considerable increase in raw-material and energy prices which have been severely impacting the fiber business for many months and have recently become more pronounced,” the company stated.
