BRUSSELS, BELGIUM —
Textiles d'Interieur Premiere (TIP) will be joined next September by Pret Pour Maison, a sibling show focusing on readymade home textiles products.
TIP, now in its 10th year, will continue to concentrate on decorative fabrics from around the world, said Bill Davis, managing director of The Trade Link Co., which operates TIP, Scoperta and Living Space. "We see that consumers around the world are moving to things that are more convenient and ready to use in all product areas. Therefore, we see that readymades will become more important in countries where this trend is just beginning in home fashions."
Pret Pour Maison, Davis explained, will be sectioned in two parts: branded products and distributors of readymade products. TIP will continue to be decorative fabrics only. Davis anticipates that the several companies already exhibiting at TIP with both readymade and fabric collections will have separate spaces for TIP and Pret Pour Maison next year.
Pret Pour Maison will be held at the Brussels Kart Expo concurrent with TIP, and "our goal is 70 to 100 companies," Davis noted. There were 124 exhibitors at TIP here earlier this month.
Davis also announced that Living Space, a home textiles show for readymade and decorative fabrics that debuted earlier this year in Cape Town, South Africa, will be expanded to include furniture, carpeting and ethnic rugs. The show will be in Cape Town from April 8 to 10, 2003.
