FORT LEE, N.J. —
Cucina Paradiso won the Gourmet Golds award for textiles during the recent Gourmet Products Show held in San Francisco.
Cucina's winning product was a kitchen tapestry featuring the label design from an olive oil tin. The reproduction was silkscreened onto a 55/45 cotton/linen blend. In addition to kitchen tapestries, the almost four-year-old company also designs and markets placemats, trays and coasters.
At the show, Cucina also debuted dec pillows, which may be added to its spring 2005 line, according to Joanna Casalino, who co-owns the company with her husband, Ralph. The shaped, foam-filled pillows also depict classic Italian labels. They are expected to retail around $45 to $55.
