Eclipse by Ellery Offers Energy Savings

Triple-woven construction provides blackout benefits

By Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 4/17/2006 12:00:00 AM

New York —Ellery Homestyles designers told HTT that several major retailers plan to test the company's new Eclipse curtain panels, which use triple-woven construction to provide blackout and energy-saving benefits.

The triple-woven embossed polyester Eclipse products is being presented as a new brand in a range of colors, said Ellery Homestyles design director Angela Boswell and design and merchandising manager Leigh Lassiter.

The Eclipse line can be merchandised with full benefit-explaining in-store signage, as well as video advertising support. The supplier reasons that with oil and energy prices at record highs, consumers could become especially sensitive to such factors in some of their home furnishings purchases. More than one retailer is ready to test this theory in the stores.
