Macy's Partners with National Park Foundation

Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 5/4/2009 12:00:00 AM

Macy's celebrated National Park Week and Earth Day last month by partnering with the National Park Foundation and local nonprofit organizations that work to protect and conserve the environment to help raise awareness and generate funds for environment-friendly causes across the country.

The department store chain's annual "Turn Over a New Leaf" campaign included special promotions and merchandise.

Macy's online Eco-Shop featured a special collection of "green" merchandise for the home as well as merchandise for men, women and children, accessories and cosmetics.

Examples of select home products included items from such as Charter Club Eco-Friendly comforters, European pillows and organic cotton 300-thread count sheets. Other assortments will comprise Calvin Klein Organic Weave area rugs, the Lauren Ralph Lauren Spa Organic Towel collection and Lenox "Re-New" recycled glass stemware.

Another home-related initiative gave shoppers a 10% discount on home goods when they made a $5 donation through Macy's toward the charities and then shopped on April 25 any of its stores or at its website. The program was dubbed"One Good Turn National Charity Shopping Day."
