Silk major trend at High Point

HIGH POINT, NC —
Silk, whether embroidered, quilted, pleated, printed, beaded, trimmed, sheer, taffeta, charmeuse or satin, was the major fashion statement in home textiles products at the International Home Furnishings Market here last week.
Silks were layered in both bedding and decorative pillow introductions and also were important as understated curtain panels.
Embellishments for beds and pillows continue to be important, but they were more restrained in terms of application.
Colors ranged from understated naturals, primarily from Italian high-end houses, to hot, preppy colors to deep rich shades of amber, ruby red and cobalt blue.
Animal skins in prints and wovens stood in for the real thing from rugs to beds to pillows.
We would love your feedback!
