Brennan chairman at DFS

By Andrea Lillo -- Home Textiles Today, 1/22/2001 12:00:00 PM

SAN FRANCISCO — Myron Ullman III, the former chairman and ceo of Macy's and now the group managing director of luxury products group LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton and the chairman of DFS Group Limited, a leading retailer to the international traveler, has been succeeded by Edward Brennan as chairman of DFS.

Ullman was chairman and ceo of R.H. Macy & Co. when he announced that he was leaving in January 1995 to join DFS, right after the transition period following the company's merger with Federated Department Stores. He joined Macy's in 1988, became co-chairman and co-ceo in 1992 and then sole chairman and ceo in 1993.

Brennan had a 16-year career at R.H. Macy & Co. and Federated Department Stores when he joined DFS Group in 1997 as executive vp, merchandising and operations in the Hawaii region. He was later promoted to president, DFS-U.S.A. Region, before being named chief merchant of DFS in late 1998. At Macy's, he held senior merchandising positions in a variety of product categories and was later named senior merchant for Macy's East.
