New York —
The ABC Carpet Modern Rug Gallery has been enhanced with the launch of a custom design digital interface that offers shoppers of this high-end retailer myriad floor covering designs that can be tailored to their individual decorating needs.
This new interactive design station, equipped with a plasma display screen, enables a shopper to manipulate any of ABC Carpet's thousands of available rug styles to his/her own preferences in color, texture, pile, size and material variations.
"The demand for bespoke rugs has grown tremendously in the past year. This vehicle will enhance the shopping experience and enable the customer to have an integral role in the design process," said ABC Carpet svp Alex Kimia.
Palette options comprise 600 silk and 600 wool tones, all incorporated into the system to modify the color of the background and motif of the rug. The texture can be altered to be a traditional pile or loop pile, and a handy option enables the user to view the surface up close. To achieve a realistic perspective of the rug in a living space, the program allows it to be placed in seven different room settings.
ABC Carpet's Modern Rug Gallery is located here, at 881 Broadway.
