DreamFit debuts quilted sheet

By Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 7/25/2008 11:43:00 AM

Las Vegas – DreamFit is introducing a quilted sheet designed to serve as a top sheet and comfort weight blanket at the market during the Las Vegas Market next week.

The patented design uses 1.5 to 2 ounces of quilting per square yard in either a 300-count Pima cotton or a 400 count Egyptian cotton, according to Jerry Wootten, president. The development of the quilted sheet is part of the company’s strategic plan “to focus more on basic bedding. We’re going back to our basics – innovation, quality, execution and value have been the signature of DreamFit.”

The oversized quilted sheet is being merchandised as part of an eight-piece package: the top sheet, a fitted bottom sheet, a bed skirt, two pillow cases, two shams and one decorative pillow – all in a range of colors.

The company offers a wide range of sheet programs up to a 1,020-count Supima.

As a result of the directional shift to focus on more basic bedding, the company is transitioning its top-of-bed programs to another entity to continue the continuity, Wootten said. Final details have not been completed. Part of the reasoning, he explained, “is we see a trend to simpler bed décor with people looking for ultimate convenience and utility.”
