Cindy Crawford makes early debut in Manhattan JCPenney store

-- Home Textiles Today, 7/30/2009 1:47:00 PM

New York – Tomorrow morning JCPenney will officially open its first Manhattan store here in Herald Square with New York Mayor Mike Blooomberg on hand for the festivities. The store has been operating in soft opening mode since July 24.

Among the highlights of the broad domestics debut is the early debut of Cindy Crawford Style, the newest exclusive home brand at JCP, which rolls out in September. The department heavily spotlights private labels Linden Street and American Living as well as the house JCP Home Collection brand.

High tech additions to the catalog desk and the jcp.com desk include same day delivery, the gift registry and the hiring kiosk.

The 133,000-square-foot store is on two levels, below street level, on Sixth Avenue between 32nd and 33rd Streets. It is smaller than many of the Penney units across the country, but is designed to offer a broad assortment of product in customer friendly environments.

The launch of the Cindy Crawford Style home furnishings that is a JCPenney exclusive is highlighted with two beds, decorative pillows and area rugs in the new store.

Window coverings, a Penney dominant product line, is emphasized with ready-mades, made to measure and custom decorating in the new store.

Little MissMatched from WestPoint Home is given a front and center aisle location for the kids bedding collection.
