Waterford, N.Y. —
After 10 months of planning, basic bedding supplier Soft-Tex Manufacturing, recently moved to a new 125,000-square-foot factory here.
"We located to a new plant which offers efficiencies we could not realize at the old facility," said Arthur Perry, president of Soft-Tex. "We now have a layout conducive to business in today's varied market, offering quick turn-around abilities, flexibility for small to medium size orders, plus an efficient conveyer system to move massive orders quickly."
The 21-year-old Soft-Tex now has executive offices and the production and fulfillment center under one roof, complete with 10 new shipping and receiving docks.
"While we were able to upgrade our machinery, production floor layout and distribution center with our move, we were very aware of our loyal and skilled workers' needs. Our local relocation [in the Albany, N.Y. area] allowed both important transitions to take place simultaneously. We did not lose a single employee in the process!" said Perry.
"We are proud of our 'Made in America' heritage, but continue to seek new global opportunities," Perry added, noting the combination will keep innovation high in both fashion and fabrication, and will support the best possible service.
Soft-Tex makes bed pillows, fiber and featherbeds, mattress pads and memory foam products. The company is licensed in these categories with brands such as Therapedic, Royal Velvet and Charisma.
