Houston —
Memory foam bedding producer Sinomax USA has taken a New York showroom at 295 Fifth Ave. and will be open in time for the New York Home Fashions Market next month.
The company also announced that its products have earned the CertiPur-US seal from the Alliance for Flexible Polyurethane Foam (AFPF). The company earned the designation after voluntarily submitting its flexible polyurethane memory foam to an independent laboratory where it was tested for specific criteria for physical performance, indoor emissions and environmental stewardship.
“The CertiPUR-US seal is an important designation in our industry,” said Frank Chen, ceo, Sinomax USA. “It shows our customers and retail partners independent verification that Sinomax memory foam passes rigorous quality assurance and product safety standards. Sinomax works with only select chemical suppliers from around the globe who help us consistently deliver the most comfortable, highest quality memory foam products to the world market.”
The CertiPur-US program is an extension of the European CertiPur program developed in 2002 by the association of European flexible polyurethane foam block manufacturers. “CertiPUR-US is a voluntary program developed to help build consumer confidence in home furnishing products containing foam cushioning materials,” explained to Bob Luedeka, AFPF executive director.
The certification demonstrates the products are “are safe, comfortable and environmentally responsible,” said Steven Romero, vice president of marketing, Sinomax USA.
Chen said products that meet the standards for certification are also less likely to be returned to the store because of foam odor or poor physical performance.
