CHESAPEAKE, VA —
Dollar Tree's board of directors has elected Macon Brock as chairman and Bob Sasser as president, reflecting the shifts caused by the retirement of retiring chairman Douglas Perry.
Previously president, Brock now adds the chairman title to his responsibilities as ceo. Sasser will continue to serve as coo in addition to his new role as president. Perry will continue to serve an active role on the board as chairman emeritus.
"This change is a further evolution of the leadership at Dollar Tree," said Brock. "Doug Perry has served as chairman since we founded the company in 1986. I expect Doug to continue to play a very significant role on the board. Bob Sasser, president and coo, has effectively had every operating division reporting to him since he joined the company in April 1999 and the organizational reporting structure will remain essentially the same. Bob has met all of my expectations, and the additional title of president is appropriate and well deserved."
