Sleep Innovations inks gel deal

WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ —

Basic bedding manufacturer Sleep Innovations has signed a 10-year licensing agreement with Edizone, inventors of Intelli-gel, which Sleep Innovations has incorporated into a wide line of products.

The agreement gives Sleep Innovations the exclusive rights to manufacture the gel material as well as manufacture and market products incorporating it.

During the New York Home Textiles Market last month, Sleep Innovations unveiled its new line of products, Novaform Gel, which utilizes Edizone's gel and five-pound visco-elastic foam. The line includes mattress toppers as well as a wide variety of sleep, travel and contour pillows. The line is scheduled to be shipped in February 2003.

The gel itself is protected under four patents, said Sleep Innovations, and also has additional patents pending.

"We are very excited to have the opportunity to bring this new material to our markets," said Dave Stewart, executive vp.
