York, Pa. – Regional department store The Bon-Ton Stores Inc. has received about 5.2 million articles of gently-used clothing and home textiles products donated by customers and employees during the retailer’s semi-annual “Goodwill Sale” event in mid September.
Goodwill Industries International will sell the donations in the communities where they were collected. Revenues will go toward support job training. The Bon-Ton operates 279 units under eight nameplates and in 23 U.S. states.
The non-profit organization said it expects the donations to generate $12 million to $15 million in revenues.
