Costco merchant named president

Issaquah, Wash. – Costco has promoted Craig Jelinek to president and chief operating officer. He also will join the board of directors.
Jelinek has served as executive vp of merchandising since 2004. He has spent more than 25 years at the company and more than 35 in the warehouse club business.
Jim Sinegal will continue as ceo. A new office of the president will be run by Sinegal, Jelinek and chairman Jeff Brotman to steer major company direction.
