White Plains, N.Y. - For its 23rd year, original artwork licensing trade show Surtex is returning to New York City in mid May with "hundreds" of top-level designers from the United States and abroad participating in this three-day event.
Surtex 2009, scheduled from May 17 to 19, will be on the main level of the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, Level 3, directly adjacent to the National Stationery Show "and closer to the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) than in past years," a show statement noted.
"This new cohesive floor plan adds greater ease than ever before to attendees and exhibitors alike," said Penny Sikalis, show manager and vp of GLM, a dmg world media business that manages and produces Surtex. GLM is based here.
Exhibitors for this year's event comprise artists, designers and representatives "of any industry that uses applied art," the show said, that can be used on products for home, stationery, giftware, automobiles, toys, publishing and others.
Conference program sessions are also scheduled. These are poised to offer insider information from industry leaders. Also in the queue are networking events meant to "create a relaxed setting for meeting colleagues and making new contacts."
