Nichol Adds Duties at Dan River

New York —
At Dan River, Bruce Nichol, vp of product development, now will head all design and development efforts.
The move follows the resignation of Melanie Kaplan, former svp, product design and development. Kaplan, as noted, has joined retailer Hanover Direct as chief creative officer of design and development. "After more than 20 years with Dan River, Melanie is doing what's best for her career," said Dan Hammer, evp, president-sales and marketing, Dan River.
"The business today is less about trend direction as seen by a single company like Dan River, than what is right for each customer," Hammer said. "We constantly are reevaluating the landscape, and have set up teams to work with specific retailers. We are not deemphasizing our efforts in design," but changing the focus, he said.
We would love your feedback!
