New York — Iconix Brand Group has licensed International Home Fashions (IHF) to produce bedding and blankets under the St. Mary's brand.
St. Mary's is currently being reintroduced to the marketplace. Iconix vp brand management, home division Carolyn D'Angelo said, “Our research shows shoppers remember the brand and have a lot of confidence in it.”
“We have partnered with Iconix on other projects and they are great to work with,” said Tedd Smith, president of Black Mountain, N.C.-based IHF. “The St. Mary's name has been around for a very long time, and we envision it will aid us in all our product categories, especially bedding.”
St. Mary's was part of the stable of former Pillowtex brands Iconix acquired last year. Long out of retail circulation, the brand formerly targeted discount stores.
Iconix ceo Neil Cole has told investors at two conferences this month that the company projects 2008 revenue of $250 million to $260 million, of which $218 million is anticipated from royalties on its existing brand portfolio. The company forecasts earnings per share of $1.35 to $1.40.
